Description

The FUS1 promoter is induced by Ste12, which is a key regulatory factor in the yeast mating pheromone response pathway. The promoter contains three copies of the Ste12 binding sequence. Genes driven by the promoter are induced when mating factor receptors on the cell's surface bind mating factor secreted by cells of the opposite mating type.
